Herpes feeds off Agrinine, it needs it to grow on the skin. So WHY would you recommend eating nuts, chocolate, or half of the things youre naming in this, which are items HIGH in Agrinine? AND bashing lysine in the same article.... Uneducated opinions on this page. Agrinine is fine in moderation for people with herpes, as is taking a lysine supplement without overdosing yourself on it. And I know from experience it DOES help.

DeleteActually, Lysine DOES work. I've been dealing with cold sores for a while. Lysine shortens the duration of them, to less than a week.The human body does not produce Lysine naturally, like it does Arganine, so it's important to take a supplement, as directed and be careful of Arginine enriched foods. Know how to have a healthy balance. That is key.

ReplyDeleteI've never seen this information anywhere else. What do you base your conclusions on? Personally, I've had wonderful results with taking around 3000 MG of L-Lysine at the beginning of a cold sore and just recently shingles. At the same time, I restrict the arginine foods and increase foods high in lysine. I don't take the pills all the time--only when I feel a cold sore coming on and then for a few days after that. Again--great results with this process. As soon as I'm better, I again include dark chocolate and nuts in my diet, because the ARE good for people--just not during a herpes flair up.

I'm glad I didn't see the article before I got rid of my cold sore. For the first time in my life, I read up on foods that are recommended and to be avoided while having an outbreak. I used that knowledge as well as I could only do and, for the first time in my life, with only aloe Vera and teatree oil applied on the cold sore, and with only lysine rich foods I made it disappear, with no complications, within less than 5 days. Before it ALWAYS took at least 7-8. Although I did not get the pils, My food was really more than full of lysine. Will now always do from the first day on.
ReplyDeleteI have been dealing with cold sores for years and have come to the conclusion that Lysine DOES combat herpes, capsules and topically, NOTHING gets rid of an outbreak faster, and I have tried everything!! I also love dark chocolate, and eat it in moderation. If you get herpes outbreaks, as I do, just do what works FOR YOU! Do research! Come to your own conclusions.
